Dental agenesis

We speak of dental agenesis when there is a lack of formation and development of one or more teeth, whether they are temporary (milk teeth) or in the permanent dentition.

Dental agenesis is a relatively common problem in people of any age. It is estimated to occur in between 1 and 3 % of the population, with dental agenesis being more common in children and in people with a chromosomal disorder.

In many cases of agenesis in children, the problem is that the baby teeth do not fall out because there is no permanent tooth to push them out.

❗️Es it is important that patients with dental agenesis consult their dentist about the different types of treatment that can be carried out to recover the tooth that has not formed.
